LO2 - Analysing a Radio Show

Plan for a new talk and music radio show.
Name - Quizzicle.

a) My radio show idea is intended for Sheffield Live! radio station to broadcast.

b) The target age-range will be 15 -20 year olds.

The contestants (may) be of this age so they will relate to them as associate with their sense of humour.  The show talks about trending subjects that they will be likely to know or will want to know about.

Quizzicle will appeal to those who enjoy knowing about/mocking current trends along with added nostalgic factors. Quizzicle has no targeted gender as the shows is not aimed towards one specific gender, allowing for a larger target audience. Teams will be made up of males and females.

 c) Content plan...
For Quizzicle's content, the show will feature: -
*Quizzes (and mini-quizzes)
*One main game (and mini-games)
*Advertisements/Sponsors
*The jingle
*Music snippets/segments (Part of games and quizzes)

d) Quizzicle's content in running order: -

First 5 minutes – Introduction of the host, show and contestants. First mini-quiz.
Next 15 minutes – The main game of the show and mini games/quizzes.
Last 5 minutes – Final quiz. Announcement of winning team.
e) Below is a rough sample script for the  layout of the show introduction.

f) Production schedule

g) A PRS is required for Quizzicle to air snippets of these pieces of music to supply as answers; if Quizzicle cannot get copyright permission to air certain songs/pieces of music, then an suitable alternative song/pieces of music will be used or the question relating to it will be cut. When creating the jingle we shall attempt to find a piece of music that is free domain or easy to access without breaking any copyright laws.

All our content shall be checked against Ofcom regulations so that no profanity or any other offensive content is featured pre-release.

Both our ideas for audio products are podcasts, meaning they are pre-recorded so if any profanity or any other offensive content is used we can edit that out either by cutting it completely out or putting a beep. Though we would check beforehand with the cast that they make sure not to use any of the above legal issues in pre-production meetings held here at UTC Sheffield or Sheffield Live!

Also because it is a podcast time the time of broadcast is not necessarily an issue. The content would be suitable for all ages, (though not necessarily to everybody's liking due to the subject of broadcast), so there would be no need to release it at a certain time, after the watershed for example.

Copyright is the exclusive and assignable legal right, given to the originator for a fixed number of years, to print, publish, perform, film, or record literary, artistic, or musical material.

h)  I plan on Quizzicle being aired at 4:00pm on a Thursday, hammocked between Sheffield Live! Jukebox and Sounzaboutright. Sheffield Live! Jukebox is a show that focuses on playing music, making it easy listening before the quiz show, which doesn't play as much music but still plays snippets of popular songs.  Sounzaboutright shares a similar style to Quizzicle as it plays music and has conversations in between on different subjects, usually relating to what's in the news.
